In the majestic oasis of Waimanalo, you will find many adventures within miles of our beach cottage location.
Visit a world-renowned wind surfing spot, where famous wind surfers congregate. We’re also near a block of celebrity owned homes along the beautiful Kailua and Lanikai beaches.
Enjoy Oahu’s fabulous restaurants. Well-known restaurants close by include Buzz’s Original Steak House, where former U.S. Presidents have dined. Buzz’s was also selected as a Critic’s choice and People’s Choice, and voted the best restaurant on the windward side. For reservations and location, call (808) 261-4661.
Other restaurants that will tantalize your palette include Lucy’s Bar and Grill (808) 230-8188 and Board Riders Restaurant, located in the Heart of Kailua (808) 261-4600.
If you’re into water sports, just a few miles south of Waimanalo Beach Cottages is Makapuu and Sandy Beach, a famous surf spot for the bold and daring. The surf is wild and high and the sunsets are magnificent!
Some of the best snorkeling can be found at Hanuama Bay Nature Park, where the ocean is translucent and the fish are friendly.
For an experience you will never forget, scuba dive with Captain Joe. Swim with breathtaking tropical fish and visit Oahu’s sunken airplane. Captain Joe is located in Hawaii Kai shopping center, next to McDonald’s. Guests of Waimanalo Beach Cottages will receive a first time discount. For reservations, call (808) 394-8098. For a different kind of adventure with Captain Joe, deep sea fishing is available.
Other “must experience” activities include Diamond Head Crater, a famous volcanic crater known throughout the world that boasts a stunning panoramic view of the ocean and Waikiki. The crater is a great place to take a morning jog or brisk walk. The winding 1 ¾ mile trail takes about 1 ½ hours to hike.
If you enjoy hiking, try the WWII Bunkers above Lanikai Beach or Olomana Mountain.
The Old Pali offers a great viewpoint of the windward side.
Sea Life Park is a sea world attraction with entertaining dolphin shows and beautiful aquariums of tropical fish. A great place for kids!
